Jorge Orchilles
Chief Technology Officer @SCYTHE
Jorge Orchilles is the Chief Technology Officer of SCYTHE and co-creator of the C2 Matrix project and author of the Purple Team Exercise Framework. He is a SANS Certified Instructor and the author of Security 564: Red Team Exercises and Adversary Emulation. He was a founding member of MITRE Engenuity Center of Threat-Informed Defense. He is a Fellow at the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) and National Security Institute. Prior, Jorge led the offensive security team at Citi for over 10 years. He also co-authored Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) and A Framework for the Regulatory Use of Penetration Testing in the Financial Services Industry, and author of Microsoft Windows 7 Administrator’s Reference. Jorge holds post-graduate degrees from Stanford and Florida International University in Advanced Computer Security & Master of Science. Jorge speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese, in decreasing levels of fluency.
Maril Vernon
Purple Team Lead and Senior Security Engineer @Aquia
Maril Vernon (@SheWhoHacks) known as the “One Woman Purple Team” is an ethical hacker, senior offensive security engineer and proven program manager and pioneer in the Purple Teaming space — a niche in offensive security testing that has recently gained attention and traction in the cyber landscape. Maril has built and tested purple teaming operations methodology across multiple industries, from start-ups to enterprise-level organizations (most recently for Zoom Video Communications as a member of the dedicated Red Team). Maril’s expertise on Red and Purple Team Operations was recently featured on the Red Team Roundup and Purple Team Roundup for Wild West Hackin’ Fest, and she is a contributing editor of the latest MITRE ATT&CKv10 Enterprise Matrix. She broke into offensive security two years ago from social media marketing and is a shining example of the success that can be achieved without certifications or a technical background.
Dan DeCloss
Founder and CEO @PlexTrac
Dan DeCloss is the Founder and CEO of PlexTrac and has over 17 years of experience in Cybersecurity. Dan started his career in the Department of Defense and then moved on to the private sector where he worked for various companies including Telos, Veracode, Mayo Clinic, and Anthem. Dan's background is in application security and penetration testing, involving hacking networks, websites, and mobile applications for clients. Prior to PlexTrac, Dan was the Director of Cybersecurity for Scentsy where he and his team built the security program out of its infancy into a best-in-class program. Dan has a master’s degree in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School with an emphasis in Information Security. Additionally, Dan holds the OSCP and CISSP certifications. Dan has a passion for helping everyone understand cybersecurity at a practical level, ensuring that focus is on the right work to reduce risk.
